A Cry for Help!

OK world, or to anyone who actually stills looks at this much neglected blog...I am desperate and need any worthwhile advice. MHS decided that at 20 months old he is too old for a nap and mommy is losing her mind! For the past week and a half I have fought him for upwards of an hour to get him to sleep and the only time it worked, he slept for 20 min. He can climb out of his pack-n-play and the crib and I just don't know what to do! If anyone has experienced this before and has some sort of input to save what little sanity I have left, it would be more than Greatly Appreciated!! I have done the drive in the car thing and that works for 30 min. or so, but I'm wasting gas and he isn't getting great sleep. He has passed the point of tired and is a terror when he is awake because of it. Please, Please, Please HELP!!! Here is a pic. of the little stinker and his angel sister too! Thank heavens for little girls that are nice to their mommies! TIA!

tHe NeW ArRiVaL!!!

I have been promising pics. of Kirsi (pronounced like Kiera, but a si at the end instead) to many people and am short on time, so I'll make it quick. Here are a fews pics. from the Hospital, (ignore the post-labor mommy in those that are applicable). We will have more that are more recent to post soon. The stats on our new lil' miss are...born April 22, (two weeks & one day ago) at 10:37 a.m., Weighed 7-2, Length=20 in. (an average of the two numbers they gave us). She arrived 5 days late, but fast (only 30 minutes once in the delivery room). L&D was good, as good as natural L&D can be given the unfathomable pain. She is a complete angel (I only have to get up once in the night, not to make any other new mommies jealous) and we just love her to pieces! MHS is doing better and better with having a sister and we hope that before long he will be able to help mommy more, rather than hinder. That's the scoop, hope you like the pictures, now back to the babes.

Slacker, I know!

Alright, alright. I know I am terrible at blogging and would easily be classified as a slacker, but honestly, I don't know how those of you who update as often as you do, do it! I guess I am not the best at managing my time because by the end of the day I am too pooped to even think, let alone post! Perhaps I will get better in the future, but I'm not going to bet on it. For now, here is a snapshot of what has happened the past, well almost two months. February held lots of happenings. Our Enrichment committee in our ward is the greatest and we had lots of fun things to do, like craft night where I learned how to make diaper wipe covers (I'll post pics later) and book club and lunch bunch and tons more! Very cool! So I was getting my craft on, like I said I'll have to post pics when I take some. CLS was anxiously planning for the arrival of his parents and was busy at work of course. Then in the middle of preparing for our soon to be arriving guests my Grandma S. passed away, so that meant a quick trip for me up to Utah to attend the funeral. It was a very peaceful and beautiful funeral, probably the most peaceful I have ever attended. And as morbid as it may sound, Grandma looked beautiful. My Dad, who can do everything, made the casket. He wanted to put love into what his mother was to be buried in and that coupled with the fact that he is the handiest man I know resulted in a really beautiful (better than I even thought) casket. I also got to hang out with just my siblings a couple times which NEVER happens and was REALLY fun!
Onto happier topics...after I got back CLS's parents came to town for a visit. We bring them down once a year and look forward to their coming each time. Mom helped me ready the house and what not for the baby and Dad and CLS went on an overnight hike with some other fellas from the ward. They had a great time. Here's a couple snapshots of their escapade.

There's nothing like getting into the great outdoors, especially for these guys!
MHS had so much fun with his grandparents. They got to see how big he is getting and how heavy and strong he is. MHS even came up with a new wrestling move that got Grandpa to the ground. Grandpa, the wrestling coach of the family, said it is definitely effective. Here are a couple clips of MHS in wrestling action.

Pretty much he grabs your hair and pulls you down towards the ground while pushing his face into yours...works well. We think he's got potential.
MHS is absolutely a ball to be with. He LOVES to dance and talks (baby babble) a lot (must get that from his Mommy). He amazes me with all he can do and his determination, apparently his Daddy was like that at his age.
The little chica has not yet arrived, another month or so. We are trying to be ready, but it's harder with one child already here. Thank heavens for online shopping! My V.T. and another sweet lady in the ward did a triple diapers/wipes shower for myself and a couple of other expecting mommies yesterday. It was so nice of them and fun to get together. I'm getting more and more excited about having a girl, but wish we had a name for her. (we are working on that)
CLS turns 35 this coming Sunday, so I'll try to snap some photos and post them after, but who knows. I think this post is long enough, but at least now you know what we're up to. Here's a couple of pics of MHS and I for the road. I hate pics (especially at 34 weeks preggo) but what ya gonna do?

Milestones Reached & Big Changes!

Well I suppose it is time for my monthly post, especially now that MHS is 2 weeks past his birthday, perhaps a few pictures of the blessed occasion wouldn't hurt. People continue to ask what we did for his birthday to which our reply is Very Little! He opened a gift from his AZ Grandparents and received cards from a couple of family members, but even mommy and daddy neglected to have gifts on the big day. It is so hard to justify more toys when Christmas just happened and our living room is already beginning to resemble a pre-school room. We did however manage to do cake & ice-cream & he did get some new bibs this past week...HOORAY, I'm sure he's thrilled! We tried cake at my parents first and that wasn't such a hit. He got "messy" and started balling. However, the second go around on his real birthday his hesitations seem to have vanished. Here is the evidence.

The "blow-out the candle, but mommy really will picture".

And the cake extravaganza begins!!!

I'm thinking the little guy likes cake, or perhaps frosting like his mommy!

MHS LOVES to be outside and during the day it is nice enough to allow this to happen. He hangs out by the fence at the beginning of the driveway and keeps guard. The camera bag was just to keep him in one spot for just a second so I could snap a few pictures before he was off to the races again. He doesn't walk...he runs everywhere and it is a challenge at times to catch him, even with short legs. (I know, I'm in trouble!)

As for other milestones, he now says Bye Bye and waves, Ultra cute! He also is catching onto "eyes". He climbs onto/up everything and loves to get down with his bad self. The one yr. exam went well and he is above average in every department, the biggest margin being in head size! Big brain I guess. He gets attention everywhere we go and keeps mommy on her toes constantly.
As for Me, I was released from Primary and put into Y.W. as the Laurel advisor. I started at the beginning of the year and I love it. There are amazing girls in our ward and I love being with them! I have 6 girls, but will be adding 2 more by summer, FUN! Our Y.W. won the Stake Volleyball tournament yesterday, GO GIRLS, and had the biggest showing for sure! I work with amazing women too, what a blessing!
CLS had a big change as well. He was playing in a dodgeball tournament on Jan. 3rd and got hit smack dab in the center of his face and his glasses split in two, right down the middle. SOOOO...he got new glasses yesterday and is getting used to them, but they look similar and I think he likes them.
We had great holidays and are looking forward to more changes this year! And that's a wrap!
